Chief of Staff – John Earl (50)

John Earl is Director of Cynosura, a communications company specialising in
advising politicians and senior executives in personal and corporate
communications issues.

He works with a number of clients both private and corporate. He has advised
in nearly thirty countries worldwide and was, for three years, communications
advisor to the Sri Lankan government.

Prior to establishing Cynosura in 1998, John had worked for the Conservative
Party for twenty years. He started his political career in Leicester and
Loughborough before moving to London to become Deputy Central Office
Agent in the London area.

In 1992 he was invited to become the Head of the Elections Unit at Conservative Central Office. In 1996 he was asked to become the Director for the London and Eastern Region, a role he undertook until leaving the Party organisation in 1998.

Communications Director – Toby Vintcent (45)

Toby Vintcent was educated at Aylesbury Grammar School and the Royal
Military Academy Sandhurst. He served as a commissioned officer with the
16th/5th The Queen's Royal Lancers for three years.

He joined Warburg Investment Management in 1986 and stayed with the firm
for eighteen years, through several changes of name, retiring in 2004 from
Merrill Lynch Investment Managers. His principal responsibilities at Merrills
were communication, client relations and brand development.

Politically, he has been an Association Chairman and was Chairman of the
Greater London Region of the Conservative Party from 1999 to 2002. Toby
founded GENEVA's Legislative Support Unit and Call Centre.

Outside professional life, Toby is a keen horseman. He rode for Britain in a
Junior British Three Day Event Team in 1979. In 2000, he was Deputy Team
Manager and Press Spokesman for the British Equestrian Team at the
Sydney Olympic Games and is currently Director of International Affairs for
the British Equestrian Federation.

Media Relations Director – Ashley Gray (42)

Ashley Gray was educated at Grenville College, Bideford in North Devon and
the L'Institut de Touraine, Tours, France.

From 1984-85, he worked in the United States Senate in Washington DC as a
broadcast officer and environmental affairs correspondence secretary. He
was PA to the Director of President Ronald Reagan's Second Inaugural
committee. He joined the Campaigning Department of Conservative Central
Office in 1986 and News International in 1988, returning to Conservative
Central Office in 1990 as Executive Assistant to the Director of Conservatives
Abroad. In 1993 he was appointed Campaign Director of the Maastricht
Referendum Campaign and Campaign Director of the European Foundation.

He established Hindsight PR in 1994, a media and communications company.
Clients have included Economic and European think tanks, the
Commonwealth Secretariat, Economists, MEPs, MPs and the UK Fishing
Industry. He has led communications projects in the USA, Asia, Africa and
Eastern Europe. For the past two European Parliamentary Elections he was
appointed the South West Press Officer for the Conservative Party.

Politically, he has been a Conservative Party Association Vice-Chairman,
Somerset County Councillor and Parliamentary Spokesman and
Parliamentary Candidate for South East Cornwall in both 2001 and 2005. He
is currently on David Cameron's 'A' list of Parliamentary Candidates.

He has three children and is the founder of a post Tsunami Education project
Adoptsrilanka Twins. The project working with Children in Crisis has twinned
over two hundred schools in the UK and Sri Lanka. A keen Cricket supporter
of Somerset, he was responsible for recruiting former Sri Lankan Captain
Sanath Jayasuriya for the 2005 season.

Research Director – Jameel Nanjuwany (20)

Jameel was educated at St Martin's School, Northwood and the
Haberdashers' Aske's Boys' School in Elstree. He is currently on a gap year
doing research in the Psychology Department at City University. Recently, he
interned in the office of the Rt Hon David Davis MP.
